From Ridesharing App to Online Food Delivery App: Uber Nailing it All

The famous ridesharing app Uber has now launched a new standalone app for online food delivery - UberEATS in India.

Started in 2014 as an online food delivery service mobile app under the name UberFRESH in California, now the on-demand app has extended its territory across India and several parts of the world. The Uber Technologies Inc. rebranded the product and changed the name ‘UberFRESH’ to ‘UberEATS’ in 2015. After a whopping success across 50+cities, finally, the food ordering app has made it to India.

A blog spot mentioning the launch of Uber post has reported in their official newsroom. “I am incredibly excited about bringing UberEATS to India. This is a significant investment, it spans multiple cities and regions, and it has the potential to change the food industry – with the push of a button – in one of the most vibrant food cultures in the world.” said Allen Penn Asia Pacific’s head of UberEATS.

The online food ordering service partners with the local restaurants across the cities, leaving you to choose from a wide range of restaurants and cuisines. The wow factor of the app is that it make use of the same technology as powered by the Uber ridesharing app, making it as simple as requesting a ride. Not to mention that the app allows you to add your favorite restaurant just by signing a form.

It is not just the foodies, but also the restaurant partners and the delivery partners who are provided with various options to choose from. The restaurants can partner with them through their delivery network to expand their customer base, and the delivery partners can bring home the bacon.

Apart from India, UberEATS is currently available in Amsterdam, Brussels, Dubai, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, London, Lyon, Singapore, Stockholm, Taipei, Tokyo, Milan, Paris, Vienna, and few cities in the United State, Australia, Canada, and Mexico.

UberEATS is now available on Google Play Store and App Store. Grab your phone now and order the food you want, from the restaurant you desire, for a UBER meal you relish.
