How does it work?
This sleek and stylish wearable offers two modes for two different scenarios - Alarm Mode and Silent Roar Mode.
In the first scenario, the wearable will produce an alarm sound between 80 to 85 decibels, which is equal to a fire-alarm sound when you continuously press the button for more than 3 seconds. This alarm mode will work regardless of the data connectivity and location. In the second case, when you feel unsafe, you can tap the button three times or more to send discreet notifications to your family and friends. However, in both the cases, your emergency contacts will receive your messages along with your current GPS location.
Athena possesses a micro-USB connector to charge the device, thus completely eradicating the need for changing the coil cell batteries. When connected to a smartphone, the charge can last up to a period of 2 weeks. The mobile application will notify you if the battery is running low, and also helps you know the status of the device.
