What’s new in Android Nougat ?


Beyond any doubt, Android’s love for food is a never ending story. After Jellybean, Lollipop, Marshmallow and now time for Nougat. Android has officially released its seventh major version of Operating System ‘Android Nougat’  in August 2016.

New Nexus phones will be the first device to operate on Android Nougat. Google has redefined the current OS and added a new meaning for user experience. So, what’s new in Android Nougat? Let’s check out the new features which will incite us.





Split-screen mode

Android Nougat allows the best feature, where you can work on two apps simultaneously on the same screen. This feature has already been in existence in Samsung phones, now google allows all android devices to use this feature. For say, you can watch Youtube and text on Whatsapp. Split-screen works both in portrait and landscape, but it is resizable only in portrait mode.

Multitasking made better

Working on several apps at a time is made possible in Android Nougat. When you double tap an app, you can switch easily between your recent two apps.The new features ‘Clear All’ and ‘Quick switch’ let you clear all the apps at once and jump back to the previous application respectively.




Google Daydream

The virtual reality (VR) platform of google is Daydream. With high-quality SoC, it allows a friendly VR experience, rendering at 60fps. Google play store, youtube, play movies, and street view allow VR via Daydream.



Bundled Notifications

Have you ever annoyed of getting lots of messages from a group? Well, happens to everyone at one point or another in life. Android Nougat came up with a feature that bundles all the message from a single messaging app as one.

Doze Mode 2.0

The battery performance has been upgraded with Doze Mode 2.0. When the phone is off and stationary, the device’s battery would cease charge at the least.

Data Saver

You must be thankful to Android Nougat for this feature, which saves your valuable data. It makes you cut down your data consumption when you are away from WiFi. From Data usage menu, turn ON data saver. You can select desired apps which run in the background.

Quick Setting

Within a swipe from the top of the screen, you will get a row of settings including Wifi settings, flashlight option, battery settings and many.

Android Nougat incorporates other features such as drag and drops text in dual window mode, lock-screen wallpaper, Vulkan graphic, new emojis and launcher shortcuts. Adding more features for security with file-based encryptions and direct boost for an active performance.
