Paytm Crosses 200 Million Users and Launches Paytm Mall App


Paytm on Monday announced that they have a reached a milestone of 200 million users and launched a standalone app-Patym Mall. Within three years of launching the app, Paytm has achieved a great milestone and proved itself as the most preferred platform across the country.

"At Paytm, our goal is to help merchants and consumers transact digitally at zero extra cost. Reaching 200 million registered users and more than half a million users on a daily basis is a great showcase of the country's trust in our payment solution. It reaffirms our belief in the need for a quick and easy cashless payment method. Going forward, we would continue to drive strong consumer-focused innovation in the category to reach the widest set of merchants and consumers in India." said founder & CEO, Vijay Shekhar Sharma.

The company had 7,00,000 users in a single day and total balance in wallet was Rs. 899.11 crore and the wallet with cash or stored card was Rs.106.8 wallets, meaning an average balance of Rs 84 per wallet, added the tweet.
  


In addition, the company has launched a standalone app for its e-commerce operations named ‘Paytm Mall’. The app provides a range of product across categories like electronics, fashion, home & furniture, appliances and consumer durables. You can choose from 68 million products and 1,40,000 buyers and dealers.

The Alibaba owned e-commerce company has made several steps to help small scale firms and producers with its ‘zero cost digital payment’ method and provided 10 regional languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Oriya and Punjabi to its user, resulting 5X more traffic to the app. The ability to provide easy, safe and secure transaction was indeed a boost to the paytm app, in terms of subscription.
